The Government is supporting additional tuition for our 16-18 year old students who have been impacted by the pandemic, while still maintaining focus on low prior attainment.
The funding will be used to support students with extra tuition during the school week and on the Saturdays/school holidays through the course of the spring term for English and Maths . As normal lesson hours are used to deliver content, the focus for the tuition sessions will be techniques for improving attainment,
embedding and and building on existing content; exam techniques and revision techniques with a goal of lifting grades above a Grade 4. LNS will also use the funding for our SEND pupils and pupils who suffer economic hardship during the course of their studies - this includes higher attainers who have not been able to reach their full potential during the pandemic.
The aim of the whole plan is to lift as many areas of attainment across our 6th
form as possible and encompass as many pupils as possible whilst ensuring ALL pupils meet grades higher than 4 in Maths and English. We plan to use a mix of existing staff and specific subject specialists from outside
the organisation.
