Pupil Voice
Within schools, pupil involvement in decision making is often referred to as 'Pupil Voice'. Pupil voice is about pupils having the opportunity to have a say in decisions in school that affect them. It entails pupils playing an active role in their education and schooling as a result of schools becoming more attentive and responsive, in sustained and routine ways, to pupils' views.
At The London Nautical School our Pupil Council is elected by the students and our structure is to have a representative from each form group, the ASC base, SEN department, a Head of KS3, a Head of KS4, the Year 10 prefects and our School Captain. The Pupil Council meets every Friday and is lead by Ms Gonzalez. Please see the link below to view the Pupil Council Presentation.
So Far This Year:
We have enjoyed different trips and workshops to develop oracy, citizenship and team working skills: Europe's House, Parliament, Museum of London exhibition 'City Now, City Future'. We have co-organised a fundraising sports event with the Year 10 prefects and are working towards making the school more eco friendly through recycling.
